ERIC HOLLAND

Holland is a painter, cartoonist and teacher. He has had a one man show every year since 2000 in the Reno area. His specialties as a painter include landscape, old buildings and the occasional portrait. Holland is working on a line of note cards that will celebrate an old building from every town in the state of Nevada. Holland has won many awards with his painting, including a Professional Artists grant from Sierra Arts, and a First Place in oils from the Nevada Artist’s Association. Holland has also done several murals in Alaska and in Nevada. He exhibits his work at the Co-op Gallery in Reno, Vigil’s Collection in Nevada City, and at Artistic Visions in Gardnerville. He also shows with the Nevada Wilderness Project once a year, painting areas the group works to protect.

Holland also draws cartoons for several Nevada publications, including the Nevada Rancher, the Nevada Appeal, the Sparks Tribune, Ahora, the Record-Courier, Petfolio, and the Nevada Observer.

He teaches art at Rainshadow High School, and with Sierra Arts and Very Special Arts as well. Rainshadow has an art show once a year at which the students sell their work.

He studied at the Chicago Academy of Fine Art, The Art Students League of New York and the San Francisco Academy of Art.
