PAMELA HUNT LEE

PAMELA HUNT LEE is a multi media artist-designer who has created fine art ranging from paintings to sculpture. Her design work has included interior commercial and residential space, corporate logos and brochures, fabrics, clothing, accessories, and developing a Designer Series of graphics for Ski Centurion Boats. Her artwork has been represented in solo, group, juried and invitational competitions in museums and art galleries across the United States. Her designs have received awards and recognition and are included in both corporate and private collections.

1960’s— 1970’s
Pamela studied painting and drawing at Cal State San Diego and the fiber arts through a variety of private institutions and individuals. Early in her career she devoted her efforts to hand woven sculpture and teaching fiber techniques through The Nevada Art Museum, in Reno, Nevada, and her own studio in Incline Village, Nevada. She also exhibited her woven artwork and placed many pieces in private and corporate collections.

1980’s — 1990’s
Pamela presented wearable art and women’s accessory collections during the 1980’s and 1990’s. These were one of a kind and limited edition, dynamic looking apparel items that were hand painted and beaded. Accessories designed by Pamela were bold and unique. Her designs sold through major retailers including SAK’S Fifth Avenue, Nordstrom’s, J.W. Robinson’s as well as in boutiques and art galleries across the nation. The San Francisco SAKS Fifth Avenue featured Pamela’s creations in their exclusive Designer Case. Pamela also presented her collections in several of their store locations including Beverly Hills, San Francisco, and South Coast Plaza.

Current
Lake Tahoe and Southern California desert areas influence the current work presented by Pamela. Pristine water and powerful rock formations, dramatically vivid sunsets and clear dark nights seen both at Tahoe and in the desert inspire and shape Pamela’s current work. Full sheets of watercolor paper may depict a small view of lake water and lake bottom with light patterns playing across the surface; pieces of canvas twelve feet long carry a tumble of colorful fall leaves or a stretch of lake water, massive boulders and pristine sky; a palate of jewel tones offsets a composition of organically shaped granite stones; delicate wildflowers are presented in exacting detail. This artistic expression is a result of a combination of prior influences that has culminated in an expressionistic presentation of the natural beauty surrounding us in these two very special locations.
